Woven into the fabric of Austin culture, the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon has served dozens of local charities since 1992. As part of the race’s 26 Miles for 26 Charities philanthropy program, Central Texas non-profits have received more than $6 million in funds. This year, it’s time to do more.

To mark the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon’s twentieth anniversary, 2010 will inaugurate a charity gala that will serve the masses touched by the 26 Miles for 26 Charities program. It’s a celebration, and an obligation to our city, not to be missed.

One program, 26 benefitted.

26 Miles for 26 Charities provides Central Texas non-profits the opportunity to advance awareness and raise money to support their mission. Children, hospitals, health organizations, schools, animal groups and more benefit from the program each year. As part of the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon, more than $6 million in funds have been raised.

The Run For a Reason Gala will further benefit our local non-profit groups that continue to selflessly give back to our wonderful community. The gala will serve as a precursor to the twentieth anniversary of the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon, further showcasing the philanthropy of Central Texas.
